A deeper look at the impact of their music

February 26, 2020

The Depeche Mode concert film SPiRiTS in the Forest was in theaters for one night only last year, but you still have a chance to see what all the fuss was about.

The British electro rockers are releasing their unique take on the genre on DVD and Blu-ray March 27th. The package includes never before seen full concert video and 2 CDs.

SPiRiTS in the Forest was filmed during the final shows of Depeche Mode’s Global Spirit Tour in Berlin in 2018. A statement says the production captures the energy of the band’s live shows and takes a deeper look at the impact of their music:

“Through deeply emotional stories of six special Depeche Mode fans, the film shows not only how and why the band’s popularity and relevance has continued to grow over the course of their career, but provides a unique look into music’s incredible power to build communities, enable people to overcome adversity, and create connections across boundaries of language, location, gender, age and circumstance.”

Depeche Mode will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on May 20th alongside the Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G.T. Rex and Whitney Houston. The band has been nominated for five GRAMMYs during an illustrious career that produced songs like “Enjoy the Silence,” “People are People” and “Just Can’t Get Enough.”
